Ingredients

  • 2 cans Crescent rolls (16 slices total)
  • 1 Egg

BBQ Chicken Mixture

For Serving

  • Cilantro for serving
  • BBQ sauce for serving
  • Ranch and/or blue cheese for serving

Instructions

Prepare the BBQ Chicken Mixture

  • First, prepare the chicken.
I love to use this easy crockpot shredded BBQ chicken for this recipe.
Alternatively, you could also purchase shredded chicken and simply mix it in the BBQ sauce.
  • Next, cook and chop the bacon.

Assemble the Crescent Ring

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Line a baking tray with tin foil and cover it with baking spray.
  • Place a small cup in the center of the baking tray as a guideline for making your ring.
  • Next, remove the crescent dough from the packaging and position each piece of dough around the small cup.
  • Then, remove the small cup and evenly distribute the BBQ chicken mixture around the ring. As a rule of thumb, aim for the chicken mixture to be about 1.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches high.
  • Top with chopped bacon and shredded cheese.
  • Then, fold the ends of the crescent rolls over the BBQ chicken.
  • Wisk one egg in a small bowl.
  • Using a pastry brush, cover the top of the crescent ring with the egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water)

Bake

  • Bake the prepared crescent ring for 23 minutes.
  • Let the crescent ring rest in the baking tray for 5 minutes before transfering it to a cutting board.
  • Top with BBQ sauce and cilantro.
  • Serve with ranch or blue cheese.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

The time to prepare this BBQ Chicken Ring does not include the time to cook the chicken or bacon since it will vary depending on your cooking method.
If you cook the BBQ chicken a few days in advance, make sure you let the chicken come to room temperature before baking.
If you make my crockpot chicken recipe, you only need a half recipe. It can easily be split in half, or you could use the rest for meal prep, sandwiches, etc.
