Christmas Toppings

  • Peppermint Baking Chips
  • Creme de Menthe Baking Chips
  • Christmas M&M Minis*

Instructions

Prep

  • First, line your kitchen counter (or baking tray) with parchment paper.
  • Next, transfer the Christmas toppings from their packages to mini bowls.
  • Melt The Chocolate

Melt The Chocolate

  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave. The amount of chocolate you are melting will determine how long you need to melt your chocolate. For about 6-8 cups of Merkens chocolate:
  • Start with 50 seconds at 100%.
  • Then. remove the chocolate from the microwave and mix thoroughly.
  • Microwave again at 25 seconds at 100%.
  • Remove and mix the chocolate well.
  • Microwave at 15 seconds at 70%, remove from microwave, and mix again.
  • You may need to repeat the above step, once or twice more, mixing well each time, being extremely careful not to overheat.
  • The chocolate is ready when about 90% of the chunks have melted.
  • Stir the chocolate with a spatula for the last few chunks since they will melt just being submerged in other hot chocolate.
  • Place the bowl of melted chocolate next to the parchment paper.

Decorate The Pretezls

  • Dip ¾of the pretzel rod into chocolate.
  • Gently tap off excess chocolate.
  • Place the chocolate pretzel on the parchment paper.
  • Add your desired toppings before the chocolate hardens.
  • Repeat with remaining pretzels
  • Wait about 5 minutes for the chocolate to harden to serve or store the pretzels.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

*Regular-sized M&M's are too large and won't stick to the pretzel rods.
Storage: Keep the chocolate-covered pretzels in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.
