Fiesta Sugar Cookies {Cinco de Mayo Dessert Idea #1}

Such a fun way to emphasize the theme of your Cinco de Mayo desserts board!

It is safe to say that I am obsessed with these fiesta sugar cookies decorated with royal icing. These margarita glass, chili pepper, and cactus sugar cookies are so cute!

Don’t be intimidated by royal icing, I detail everything you need to know in my Fiesta Sugar Cookie guide.

Other common fiesta sugar cookie shapes are tacos, sombreros, pinatas, moroccos, llamas, and banjos. You can get the cookie cutter set from Amazon here.

Cinco de Mayo Cupcakes {Cinco de Mayo Dessert Idea #2}

I always try to find a balance between time-consuming desserts and quick/easy desserts for all of my dessert boards.

These Cinco de Mayo cupcakes definitely check the “quick/easy” box.

These mini cupcakes were actually leftover from my Rainbow Cupcake Cake. While the cupcakes were delicious, we couldn’t eat all 71 mini cupcakes LOL.

With just a few extra steps and ingredients, the rainbow cupcake cake quickly became cute Cinco de Mayo cupcakes:

  1. Fiesta Cupcakes
  2. Churro Cupcakes
  3. Lime Cupcakes

Fiesta Cupcakes

‘Sombrero’ Cookies {Cinco de Mayo Dessert Idea #3}

These no-bake ‘sombrero’ cookies are made in 15 minutes with just three ingredients: (1) Golden Oreos, (2) white chocolate, and (3) rainbow nonpareils.

How To Make Sombrero Cookies

  1. Dip Golden Oreos in melted white chocolate.
  2. Next, add the melted chocolate to a ziplock bag and cut the corner off of the bag.
  3. Outline each chocolate-covered Oreo with more chocolate and sprinkle with rainbow nonpareils.
  4. Lastly, add a small amount of melted white chocolate on the bottom of a spice drop, and place the spice drop on top of the decorated Oreo.

Did you know Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churro Cereal exists? I did not, until I was looking everywhere online for pre-made churro cookies to incorporate into this Cinco de Mayo desserts board.
